Why is is fantasy football in April viewed as negative? Sure, we are still a few weeks away from the NFL Draft. Heck, the NFL schedule isn't out yet. In this period of the year, there are many unknowns. Fantasy football drafts at this time of the year are huge gambles.
But that is exactly why we do it. The thrill of YOUR unknown sleepers becoming big NFL stars and carrying you to a championship. Seeing YOUR rookie picks blossom into functional NFL players. You are pretty much picking YOUR guys, and it makes us happy.
The whole process of drafting is simply so much fun for me. Looking at ADP lists from different websites, looking for value in each and every draft pick, and taking "my guy" before anyone even thinks about him, all adds to the fun and satisfaction of drafting early in the year.
Are the teams we draft in April going to be winners cashing out in December? Are they worth the investment? Maybe, or maybe not. But for right now, I'm VERY HAPPY with the teams I've drafted so far. I'm sure other folks like me with "the sickness" are also very happy with the teams they drafted this early. Happiness makes the world go around :)
Next stop, NFL Draft. See you then! -- Mark, @ff_inferno
